Art is a passion, as necessary for me as breathing. I believe it is important for an artist to make a distinction between painting and art, as a writer might make a distinction between typing and literature. A painting may provide pleasure and information, while art is at once beautiful, cerebral and sensual. Art speaks to the mind, whispers to the heart, and sings to the soul. Art contains elements of beauty, truth and timelessness – always providing the sensitive viewer with awe and wonder.
My goal is to create works which are multi-dimensional and appeal to the eye, mind, heart, and soul. I endeavor to create a canvas that, although having been viewed countless times, and all the while providing beauty and pleasure, will suddenly and unexpectedly offer a new insight or sensation one that has not been previously seen or felt.
To that end, I rarely sign the front of my canvases but prefer to sign the back, nor do I give specific titles to my work, as I wish the viewer to have complete liberty of interpretation. I do not wish to impose or infuse my ego into my paintings as I am satisfied to experience the passion and act of creation thus leaving the understanding and analysis as well as the freedom of personal appreciation to others.
As abstract art offers so much interpretation, I welcome you "To the edge of certainty".
